THE KEEPERAlso known as Yokai, the creator of the world named after itself. The Keeper mysteriously disappeared, banished from their own world by The Whisper.They made contact with Caesyum during the Interlude, explaining they had been trapped in another world, but used the opportunity to research the Corrosion-- the corrupted code that had destroyed their last world, FellSMP. They have asked the Helpers (angels) to ensure their world remains stable, safe, and alive.

THE WHISPERAn ancient Observer who has been eyeing the world of Yokai for a long time. It was given access to communicate with the world's entities by Ary and Night, and has proceeded to guide the entities to break the world borders, open the End, and freeze the Nether, causing the world to rip apart at the seams. Their true name, origins, and goals are not known, but they appear to take a great interest in whoever possesses the Calamity Crystal.

THE DREAMSCAPEThe Dreamscape is an ancient Observer that operates as a dimension, claiming souls and transforming them into Phantoms that carry out its will. It is a being that The Keeper was fond of, and continued to invite to their worlds. The Dreamscape had a hand to play in the destruction of The Keeper's last world, but desires to see to the survival of this one.For more information on the Dreamscape and Phantom/Warden/Allay lore in YokaiSMP, please click here for the Dreamscape lore document.

About: Caesyum is Seraphim Helper who was on vacation when the world fell apart. Conflicted as to if they were able or allowed to interfere in the world, they attempted to limit the damage of the Calamity Crystal with limited use of their Helper abilities. Due to the Crystal, their physical form was killed by the demon Ary, sending them back to the Source Code and giving them the opportunity to search for the missing Keeper. Caesyum learned the Keeper was trapped in another world and took the instructions to 'keep the world safe, stable and alive' very seriously. After an inability to garter help from the other Helpers, they have re-built a body and have returned to the world, now appointing themself temporary Keeper. Caesyum is no longer shy or hesitant to influence the world in Creative mode in the name of returning things to stable, but they themselves are starting to slip, or have been for a long time. Since when do angels need vacations?

About: Prokaryote is a unicellular organism cursed with sentience by the angel Caesyum many years and worlds ago, since then Prokaryote has grown to a colony that mimics a humanoid shape, allowing them to act as an Entity in most worlds. They have a history of warping the world code of primitive worlds as a Hacker, but found that newer versions of worlds were not so easily manipulated. Prokaryote grew bored of 1.12.2 and hopped forward on the coattails of Caesyum, hoping to live off the angel's guilt, only to find Caesyum a Helper of a new world. Prokaryote joined and was allowed through the Firewall when deemed harmless to the current world version, and has been enjoying living in Emberlan and leeching off of Caeyum's obligate charity.
Then the world ended? Which was inconvent, but also not Prokaryote's problem. They have done a great job at avoiding major conflict, content to put other people into places of responsibility and grow rich. He jealously tries to keep Caeyum's affections from other people and does whatever he can to amuse himself and keep any repercussions of his actions from affecting him for long. Might have killed Lachlan once, but it's probably fine.
Note: Portrayed by the same player as Caesyum, but will never appear as a potential POV. Prok doesn't do that whole Observer Thing.

Finding himself to be compatible with the world's system, Vel set out to learn and survive in Yokai, as well as see what friends and allies he can make on the way. He'll need them.
